Sarasota rooftops: 4 must-visit rooftops with great views

After spending a full day in the sun what better way to end the day than by taking in the epic cityscape from one of the downtown rooftop venues?

Sarasota continues to grow and welcome new restaurants to the already great downtown vibe. As the city grows, so do the skyscrapers. In the last decade, the city has added several new rooftop bars and restaurants, and let me tell you, these are rooftops with great views!

The Westin

100 Marina View Dr.

At the Westin you’ll experience epic views 19 stories above downtown Sarasota. Out of the 4 places on this list, this one is by far the best place to see the sunset. If you visit early in the day, you can soak up the sun at the rooftop pool. You can grab a bite to eat or drink at The Roof Bar and Eats atop the Westin.

The bar offers stunning views of downtown Sarasota and Sarasota Bay with a relaxed, upscale vibe. Some nights they feature live music or a DJ.

Art Ovation Hotel

1255 North Palm Ave. 1st Floor

If art is right up your alley, the beautiful Art Ovation Hotel should be a stop on your downtown Sarasota rooftop tour.

The views of the sunset are great from the fifth-floor bar at the Perspective Rooftop Pool Bar. Swing by on a Friday or Saturday night for a super cool vibe. And by super cool, I mean a DJ’ mixin’ up all kinds of EDM music. As the name implies, there is a pool on the rooftop too for you to soak in the rays during the day.

All throughout the hotel, you’ll notice beautiful artwork from the moment you walk through the front door. The boutique hotel boasts revolving art exhibits and performing arts in the lobby.

You can’t miss the colorful mural situated behind the bar that’s a nod to art history in Florida. The hotel puts a big emphasis on art and has an art-themed gift shop.

The hotel also hosts an Art and Wine event each night.

Sage

1216 1st St.

This restaurant is for you if your pallet craves foods inspired from around the world.

The height is no comparison to the Westin or Art Ovation, but Sage SRQ features a fourth-floor rooftop lounge, cocktail bar, and a multilevel dining room.

It’s a perfect spot for a romantic date night or a celebration. The almost century-old Mediterranean-style building was once home to the Sarasota Times. You can delight your taste buds with foods inspired by Indian, French, and Moroccan influences.

Daiquiri Deck

325 John Ringling Blvd

A perfect place to unwind after a long day of fun in the sun and hands down the best place to get a frozen drink!

When you walk inside, you’ll notice frozen-drink machines all along the wall. You can get any of these frozen drinks with or without alcohol.

I highly recommend the poke tuna bowl! The vibe is chill, laid back, and great for both singles and couples. Daiquiri Deck has other locations on Anna Maria Island, Siesta Key Village, South Siesta Key, and Venice.

Conclusion

My personal favorite on this list is The Westin. I have seen some stunning sunsets there! Have you been to any of these locations? Leave a comment and tell me which is your favorite!
