In this video, we’re exploring one of Florida’s oldest landmarks, the Sand Key Lighthouse. It’s located just seven miles off of Key West. Here we’ll freedive the beautiful Sand Key Reef. The reef at Sand Key is typical of major lower Keys spur and groove reefs. The spurs are ridges of coral five to 20 feet deep, with grooves of sandy bottom between cliff-like structures. Fire coral abounds in several sections of the reef.

From there, we’ll travel to Boca Grande Key where we’ll have our first encounter with Cuban migrants.
