Throughout this whole journey, from quitting our jobs to selling our house to buying a sailing catamaran, we’ve said something like this: we did (fill in the blank), but now the real work begins.
Well, we’re saying it again. In this episode, we arrived back in Florida after picking up our boat in Texas and safely crossing the Gulf of Mexico. One thing crossing the Gulf did for us, besides getting our boat back to Florida, was give us an entire to-do list for boat maintenance. And now—the real work really did begin.
We were now proud boat owners, and it was time to get to know our new home like the back of our hands. It can be overwhelming for new sailors; we have a lot to learn!
Not only did we clean every inch of The Adventure Crews, but we were also in the middle of purging our belongings and moving out of our house. It’s amazing how many “necessary” things quickly become clutter when you change your perspective. We found it so freeing to get rid of stuff; we’re looking forward to collecting more memories and fewer material things in our new life.
With what was left, we had to figure out the best way to store everything in such a small space. Watch the video to see how we do it (and also for a tour of our new home). If anyone has any organizational tips for small spaces, drop us a comment below!
