We just spent the last 9 days at sea beating directly into the wind and waves to make it to the 2023 Annapolis Boat Show in time. What should have taken 4-5 days has taken almost twice the time as we battled directly into the wind and waves for almost the entire 1,000 NM passage. Now that we’re at the dock, the work begins to get this boat ready for the show.
The Annapolis Sailboat Show is the largest in-water boat show in the world. It takes place during the height of hurricane season on the east coast of the USA. This year there will be more than 50 multihulls on display along with every type of monohull imaginable. The caveat, the majority of these boats CANNOT be transported to the show and they’re not even made in the USA. As you can imagine, this is a logistical nightmare to get all these boats not only to the show but in place, in time. This year we got to play a small role in helping make this show possible, as we deliver a brand new Leopard 42 to the show. Weather will not be in our favor as we race against the clock to make it to Annapolis.
